Oscar Paul *Bio updated Sept 2023*   |   Male   |   Mixed Breed   |

Rescue Story:

The Zoe's team has known me since I was a young pup as they help out in the community I'm from. Unfortunately my owner passed away and I ended up in the pound before being brought to Zoe's.

Date of Birth: 2015

Energy Level: High - I am happiest with daily exercise and mental activities

Size (adult): X-Large

Adoption Fee: $0 (my adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor)

Good with Dogs? No
I am reactive to new dogs so would do best in a home with no other dogs.
Good with Cats? No
No thanks to felines, they aren't my cup of tea.
Good with Kids? No
Kids 14+ would be best as I don't know my size and sometimes jump.

Critter Twitter:

I have had a lot of changes in my life recently and that means I am looking for a very specific retirement home.

Oscar is a special boy and can have a very special bond with his people, but it takes time to make that bond and to show him he safe. He would likely prefer the opportunity to have a large fenced yard, as he is not a big fan of walks. A fenced acreage would be perfect for him! It would probably be best to have no children in the home to not overwhelm him. Any other dogs would have to be very carefully introduced.

About my Behaviour:

I am a big, strong dog and can be reactive when I see other dogs out on walks so I need a strong owner who can manage my size and will continue working with me on this. I'm looking for a calm home with patient people who will keep working with me to build up my comfort and confidence. To help us start off on the right paw, our adoption process will include needing to commit to multiple meets as well as talking to our trainers before I go to a new home. Two private sessions with a certified trainer will be included with my adoption!

How’s my Health?

I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, de-wormed and micro-chipped.

This animal is in need of a new foster home. Are you interested in fostering?
