Rescue Story:

I originally came to Zoe's as a young puppy and was adopted out but unfortunately returned. My family had a new baby and I was having a hard time coping with that and also recovering from surgery. Now I'm looking for a second chance.

Date of Birth: January 9, 2024

Energy Level: High - I am happiest with daily exercise and mental activities

Size (adult): Medium (approx 60lbs)

Adoption Fee: $425 for all the beauty and all the brains!

Good with Dogs? Yes
I love to play with other dogs!
Good with Cats? Maybe
I still need to work on my manners around feline friends but should be ok with dog savvy cats.
Good with Kids? Maybe
Older kids would be best as I sometimes forget how big I am.

Critter Twitter:

Hi I'm Megan, aka Fiona! I am a very excitable and friendly girl who loves everything and anything. I play hard, love hard, and sleep hard - with my people of course because I like to be where you are. Though if you need to leave me at homes im happy to chill out on the couch until you return. I love to play and would love love love to have a a doggy sibling to keep me company. I need plenty of walks and mental stimulation to keep me from getting bored. When I get bored, I can get anxious and loud and forget my manners. I know sit, down, speak, place, leave it, play dead, and a few other commands and having been workng hard on my recall. I love cheese and will do just about anything for some.

About my Behaviour:

I am house trained. I will bark or whine to let you know when I need to go. I can also ring a doggy doorbell to come back in. I am comfortable in my crate but only if you’re gone- if you are in the house, I want to be with you. I can get very excited when new people come to the house and don’t always show my excitement in appropriate ways. I love going for walks and have been working on my leash manners. - I don’t love the leash holding me back and can sometimes take my frustration out on it. I’ve done multiple training classes and am eager to please but need some help focusing. To ensure we get off on the right paw, my adopters will be required to sign up for force-free training. You can find a list of great trainers at www.albertaforcefreealliance.com.

How’s my Health?

I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. I had TPLO surgery completed on my left leg on January 14 and will need my right leg completed due to partial CCL tears due to how my back knees grew. I have been a bit anxious with my restricted activity as I healed so am on anxiety meds to help but may not be needed once I’m healed.
