Critter Twitter:
Hey there! I'm Jared! I am the whole package! I can either quietly sit on my dog pillow chewing at dog toys or I can chase balls and play tug a war with another dog or person. And then I will turn around and as cuddle with my people when I get tired out. I tend not to bark unless it is something specific that has caught my attention and I only bark until you notice and then I replace it with a tail wag. Like my siblings, I am super smart. I am figuring out that I need to go to the door and whimper to go outside to do my business and I am good at going where my foster mom prefers on the rock instead of grass. Therefore if you show me where you would like to go, I am sure I can learn in my forever home too.
If you can’t find me after 9:30 pm, chances are that I have put myself to sleep in the kennel as I know sleep is good for me. I love my kennel and will sleep to at least 6:00 am. At that time, my sister tends to wake me up. In my forever home, I would love to have people around me but I do have a bit more of an independent and calm personality so if I had to be left home alone in the kennel for a reasonable time, I would probably chill and relax as long as I am getting plenty of socialization and exercise before and after you leave. About my Behaviour:
I love wrestling with my sister and resident dog in my foster home. So sometimes when you go to pick me up, I think you are going to wrestle me, and I may respond like I want to wrestle. But once I know it is for a cuddle, I will calm in your arms and love the attention. I have been exposed to cat, kitten and rabbit. I only seem to want to bark at the cat. This could be because my sister tends to bark first. So if I am slowly introduced, I am sure I will adjust. I have lots of energy but one way I am learning great skills and getting the zoomies out is working with a Flirt pole. My foster parent drags around a tug toy on a pole and when I finally catch it, I have learned to drop it, sit and wait for my treat before chasing the toy again. It is super fun and hope I can do it more of it. I am learning that shoes are not for chewing and that it is better if I chew on a dog toy or my favorite is a cold carrot from the fridge. It feels good on my baby shark teeth. I have also learned that I need to sit and be calm before getting a treat. As a condition of adoption, we must register in a force free training class for puppies. We'll learn so much and bond and I can have some socializing time with other dogs in a safe environment, which is really critical for young pups!
