Rescue Story:
As far back as anyone can remember I was living my life with a mother and son duo. 4 months ago my mom fell ill and passed away. I had nowhere to go as her son had to move and was unable to take me. I was a bit under the weather then and the nice foster family that took me in gave me lots of good food and some meds for my itchy skin. I’m feeling much better now and I’m ready to find my furever home!!
As a courtesy post Zoe's has not met Cali, we facilitate the adoption behind the scenes to ensure a safe rehoming. We make sure the animals are vetted but do not personally know the animal. It is the adopters responsibility to do their due diligence -ask for vet records, get the microchip changed, potentially involve a force free trainer for an assessment and/or ask for a trial period.

Hi I’m Cali! I’m senior but don't let my age fool you - I’m very playful and cuddly! I love playing tug of war but should only play with adults as I can get a little rough when I get riled up! I also really love to play fetch! Going for walks is one of my favourite things! I get very excited for them! I’m still learning how to leash walk properly so you’ll have to be patient with me - it's just that a leash is just so fun to play with! I’m good with smaller dogs but I like to sniff them as much as possible .. good thing they don’t mind! I am a little scared of big dogs and get very overwhelmed by them, so dog parks aren’t a great place for me. I get really nervous in the car. I’ll jump right in but will whine the whole time I’m in there - maybe with some practice I'll get used to it? I am intrigued by all things and like to know what’s happening some may say I’m “nosey “ but I really I just like to be "in the know" ha ha. I’m crate trained and house trained. I even know some tricks and commands! Like most dogs, I’m very food motivated. I’m snuggly and will happily move to lay on the couch with you if I’m allowed. I am spayed, up to date on my vaccines and microchipped. I have some allergies that are now being controlled with special food and meds.
