I came to Zoe's with my mama and my brothers and sisters. We are all looking for our forever homes.

My name is Buttered Rum, from the Festive Drinks litter, but my foster mom calls me ‘Jasper.’ She said it was to keep me from feeling embarrassed when she shortens my name to call me inside.
She also says I am the cutest. I don’t know why! Is it because of my tail that is all curled up, or the little white spot on my nose? I spend my spare time looking at myself in the mirror to try to understand the whole thing a little better.
Since I’ve been in care, I’ve learned lots of neat tricks! I LOVE food, and I get a treat every time I do something right! So far, I’ve learned that ‘outside’ means it’s time to go potty so I run to the door just as quick as I can, and I sit and wait for my mum to catch up. I’ve also learned how to sit, stay, look at my mum when she asks, lay down and come when called. I even bring her my water bowl when it’s empty so she remembers to fill it. And, I get treats when I walk beside her and she says ‘heel.’ I don’t know why, but it’s super easy and she seems happy about it too, so it’s a win-win situation.
My mum says I’m pretty chill, and that I will never be an escape artist. I like to be with my people doing whatever they are doing, whether it’s walking outside or cuddling up and watching Netflix for the evening. But I know my mum sometimes has to work, so I go in my crate when asked and wait patiently for her to return home. The people who come into my home while she’s away make loud noises (my mum has contractors coming in and out for renovations) but they don’t bother me at all. I just sit and watch what they are doing and sometimes I even get to play with them which makes me super happy.
I have a foster brother and he’s a BIG Golden Retriever. We like to play lots and my mum is happy about that, especially since she says, ‘it’s too cold to go outside.’ My brother is teaching me what’s appropriate and what’s not when we play, and I’m a quick learner, so we get along just great. He’s even taught me that chewing on human possessions is a no-no. So, I’m happy to just play with my toys when he’s too tired.
My foster mum and I go to puppy socialization classes too and it’s a hoot! There are so many puppies to play with! But I’m not obnoxious. I don’t get in other doggie’s faces. I calmly approach them and see if they want to play. If they don’t, I move on. My foster mum says she’s so proud of me.

I would be an amazing companion pupster to any human as I have lots of interests and am super eager to please. I could be an Instagram model, or a work companion/therapy dog, or an agility champion! I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve got skills, and am super happy to learn new ones!
About my Behaviour:
I will require puppy classes to help me to socialize safely. I might always be a high energy dog so I do require a home that will always be active. I'm learning manners, and I'll need you to continue to help me with positive force free training - I know I"ll be a superstar! I'm doing great with my crate training, it's a safe, comfy place to chill when you're out and about.
