Rescue Story:

My family's situation has changed and they are in the process of selling our house. The rental units they are moving into do not allow dogs my size, so they are looking to find a new home for me.

**As a courtesy post Zoe's has not met "Avery", we facilitate the adoption behind the scenes to ensure a safe rehoming. We make sure the animals are vetted but do not personally know the animal. It is the adopters responsibility to do their due diligence -ask for vet records, get the microchip changed, potentially involve a force free trainer for an assessment and/or ask for a trial period.**

Critter Twitter:

Hi, my name is Avery! I love going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. I also love to chase my ball down the field, but I'm still learning the drop it part. I have my favourite toys, and love to play with them in the house. I love to run and jump and sometimes leap right off the top step of the deck to race around the back yard. I also love to cuddle and really love lap time, I even have my favourite pillow and blanet. I love the snow and enjoy rolling around in a fresh snow fall. I'm very intelligent and a quick learner. I'm patient and typically sit and wait for my food. I don't beg, but I do like to lay under the table just in case anything finds its way to the floor, though I don't care for human food all that much. I love going for walks along the trails, although I do get excited if I see a squirrel.

About my Behaviour:

I am house trained and always ask to go outside to relieve myself. I am crate trained, but I am fine to be left out when everyone is away and at nighttime. I do bark when I get excited, both inside and outside the house, typically it's not excessive. I do get very excited when visitors come to the door, though I quiet down after they've said hello and given me some attention. I'm very good with my Gentle Leader but I do get excited when I see scooters or skateboards. Of course bunnies and squirrels bring out the excitement in me as well.

How’s my Health?

I am spayed, up-to-date on my vaccines and microchipped. I have a sensitivity to beef, so I eat mainly raw turkey with some chicken kibble. I do like my cookies and will do anything for cheese. Other than that, I'm healthy and have no need of medications.
