Akiko | Female | Domestic Short Hair |
Rescue Story:
My awesome “dad” had to go into seniors care and he wanted to find me a great new family so I was surrendered to Zoe’s. In Japanese, Akiko means 'sparkle', 'bright', or 'autumn', depending on the context the word is used. I was named 'Akiko' for autumn, as it's a time of year when my "dad" enjoyed travelling to Japan.
Date of Birth: April 2011
Energy Level: Medium
Size (adult): Small
Adoption Fee:
Good with Dogs? Unknown
With proper introductions, I think I would be okay with a very relaxed dog who doesn’t bark much.
Good with Cats? Yes
If cat friendly and proper introductions.
Good with Kids? Unknown
I’d be okay with older kids who will let me do my own thing. I love to be pet and get neck and ear scratchies, but don’t enjoy being carried and I’m not really a lap cat. If I’m over stimulated, I may also nip a bit to let you know.
Critter Twitter:
I love to play with wand toys and roll around while attacking them! #CounterSurfer #PrettyandPlayful #ScratchMyNeck
About my Behaviour:
I'm curious, intelligent, playful, and I love to explore. If you open a door, I want to go through it. I will jump on all your counters and I’ve even learned how to open cupboard doors!! So, if you want to try to hide my food and treats from me you are going to have to outsmart me … I dare you to try! My foster mom says the BEST thing about me is that I love to give kisses. I’m not much of a lap cat, but if you give me a good neck and ear rubbing, I will not be able to stop myself from rolling over.
How’s my Health?
I am spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. I also had a full dental with one tooth pulled in June 2016 so my smile is purrfect now! Due to being a senior my adoption fee is only $75!
